| Alex Liu in Singapore founded the Manhunt contest in 1987 in Singapore. Following its huge success, Manhunt became International in 1993. |

The Manhunt International pageant has been held in Singapore, Australia, Philippines, China and Korea. Out of 25 contestants, Thomas Sasse from Germany won the first Manhunt International title. Since 1995, the Manhunt International has become extremely popular as 420 million audiences viewed the televised show.

In 2002, when the contest was held in China, 500 million viewers watched the show. At the 2001 Manhunt International pageant, Rajeev Singh, from India, became the first Asian to win the title.

Manhunt International is a search for the best male model in the world and its activities include outdoor sports, thrilling events, public presentations, talent fun routines and even a chance to meet and impress the ladies.

Till 2001 the jury panel of the contest comprised of only women but now even men are included.
