Miss Asia Pacific International

The Miss Asia Pacific International was earlier known as the Miss Asia Quest when it was introduced in 1968 and beauty contestants from Asia and Oceania were allowed to participate.
In 1985 the name of the pageant was changed to Miss Asia Pacific Quest and it included participants from Central, North and South America. Finally in 2005, the Miss Asia Pacific International was adopted to include all countries of the world.

Acknowledged as the first and oldest Asian beauty pageant, Miss Asia Pacific International has a network of 87 countries and territories world over.

The 36th Miss Asia Pacific International was held in China.
The pageant includes categories like Miss Photogenic, Best in Evening Gown, Best in Swimsuit, Best in National Costume and Miss Friendship. Contestants from Philippines have performed very well in the pageant, bagging the title four times since 1982.
The winner of Miss Asia Pacific International 2005 was Leonora Jimenez-Monge from Costa Rica.

In 1970, model turned actress Zeenat Aman was the first Indian to win Miss Asia Quest.

Three years later, another Indian, Tara Fonseca won the title followed by Dia Mirza in 2000.
