| Miss International beauty pageant began in 1960 in the United States of America but since 1972 it has been held annually in Japan. |

This pageant is the fourth largest pageant in the world and the aim of the contest is to increase women's contribution to international society. Participants in this contest are expected to serve as Ambassadors of Peace and Beauty and expand their friendship network to the world, deepening mutual exchange.

Apart from personality and beauty, the contestants are judged by their intelligence and sensibility. The pageant is also known as the Olympics of Beauty.

The contestants' performances are judged in the rounds of National Costume, Swimsuit, Evening Gown and Speech. The winner of Miss International 2006 is Daniela Di Giacomo of Venezuela. The One Love Fund was set up to aid charities and promote the goodwill activities of Miss International.
