Jhane Barnes is synonymous with men's fashion. Jhane, a graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology, started her business in 1976 after she received an order for designing 1000 pants.

Two years later the jackets and pants designed by Jhane gained recognition for their inventive features such as bag pockets, button-up collars and stylish molded shoulders. She became a full-fledged men's designer, won many awards and her collections attracted a clientele comprising Elton John, Paul Simon and John Lennon. The Jhane Barnes jacket became famous after being worn by Bruce Springsteen.

In 1998, she grabbed the opportunity to design basketball team Orlando Magic's uniform. Apart from designing men's clothes, Jhane also created a furnishing line and accessories.
