Polo Ralph Lauren |
In 1967, Ralph Lauren created the Polo label, which carried a line of ties designed by him. After his ties became a priced item in men's clothing, he designed a successful menswear line under the same label and in 1969 opened his first Polo boutique at Bloomingdale's in New York. In the year 1971, Lauren introduced Ralph Lauren womenswear and also adopted the polo player emblem as his logo.
